You can't say it's slower, because it's really hardware depended.
In fact our testing board, has a faster loading time of 5-8msecs with the same type of frontpage (recent topics, shoutbox etc) and our database.

I got no date yet, as I am still thinking about theme stuff.
And no MyBB isn't hardware dependent, everything is about server speed and resources.
Also, one point I forgot was that everyone has a different configuration and I am doing this a hell of a long time so I think we're pretty good covered if it comes to configuration quality

• Thanks received: x in x posts - or just change to "Likes: x" (only value of all likes)
• Thanks Given: x - (you can just make it in profile displayable)
• Reputation: x - (remove this shit completely if it's a plugin, no once cares)
  [li]Warning Level: x% - (or is it for moderator/admins only?)

and make everything in right align (only in the users info box inside a topic / post)
